Blacksmith Art in Metchosin

Shaw TV's Nikki Ewanyshyn meets the Contemporary Blacksmiths at their 2nd "Forge-in" held February 22-24, 2013 in Metchosin, B.C. This new group of blacksmiths have taken their ancient craft and turned it into art. The finished work will be on display at Toronto, Ontario's Pearson International Airport as part of a series of international metalsmithing exhibitions being held in conjunction with Meta-Mosaic, the 42nd annual conference of the Society of North American Goldsmiths.

In February 2012, Jake and the Contemporary Blacksmiths came together for their first Forge-in, to collaborate on the creation of a gate for the Auburn Adventist Academy. This documentary look into the 2-day hot metal event was shot by Seattle photographer and filmmaker Monica Frisell.
